Mexico 2009 Part 6 - First morning

After a long night of wondering, first taking pretty photos, then chasing raccoons, went back to the room for a quick shower.
After I got out, went to the balcony and was greeted by this wonderful sunrise.
Getting lighter bit by bit.
Jungle all around.
Looking in a different direction.
Quite pretty in black and white.
Looking at the rail...
...I see a bug.
There are a ton of these up in Michigan, but all of them are black with red spots.
The LX3 is quite useless at anything even remotely far away, but when it comes to macros, it is probably one of the best cameras I have ever used, out of the compacts I mean. Though obviously if you want the best results, you'll need to be shooting in manual. ^_^;
The trails are pretty but infested with absolutely vicious mosquitos.
Some flowers.
Just look at that pretty sky, yay at polarizer filter.
I absolutely love taking photos in the morning, the colors are always so excellent. ^_^
Just taking photos of everything I see while walking.
I want a tree like this. Is huge, covered in large red flowers... Anyone know what these trees are called?
Some other random tree.
Absolutely love taking photos of palm leafs.
Sigh, I want to go back there. :(
Flowers, once again, yay at LX3.
The northern states look so horribly boring every time you get back to them after seeing all of this stuff.
So much flowers everywhere.
Every single palm is covered in coconuts.
Pretty fishies swimming around.
Quite lovely being able to have breakfast with such a nice view.
More pretty wallpapers!
The caged area with the crocodile. When I called him a 'small lizard' in an earlier post, seems many of took me too literally :p - I was kidding guys! :D
One of the many eating areas, posted a night photo of this one in the night shots post.
What a pretty pool when its not covered with asses.
Weird root-like things in places where coconuts used to be.
More lizards.
Pool from the other side.
In the morning these birds are running around everywhere collecting everything that wasn't cleaned still.
One of those birds screaming on the a tree.
At 8 in the morning, heads already floating.
More birds.
More lizards.
Finally, another pretty photo. Sorry about such a long post, but just wanted to get this whole set out at once. ^_^

@ "What a pretty pool when its not covered with asses."
So true... lol

Wonderful photography Michael. Keep it up! Did you venture in nearby towns and intermingled with the locals? Would be interested to see that as a journalist. Thanx again.

@Moign Khawaja, Sadly, not so much, will need to do some of that next time I'm there, hopefully soon ^_^

That tree depending on where you live has diferent names. In yucatan and quintana-roo (the area where you stayed) they call that tree "Flanboyan" and where I live we call it tabachin, and it gives a kind of large woddebd SERPS with seeds inside, and as a kid we used to play with it. Nice tree.
You also mentioned that returning home is boring.... it may be true, but from all your previous posts, I did the mexico ones the less appealing, BUT PLEASE, don't missunderstand me, you images are amazing an you an eye for good compositions!!!!, but I really do find less interesting because I already love in Mexico...Same thing happends to me after returning from japan.
Hey Michael, I bought a set of polarizers foy my camera lenses after you suggested it..... but don't get the skies as blue a te ones in your images, the reflections on tree leaves and windows dissapear, but clouds and skies show little to no improvement, I was wondering if you can give me any tip on how to shoot. I was reading that you have to make a gun with your fingers and point it to the sun to get the area withthe beat polarizing effect.
PS: I'm sorry if I make no sense at all, or some words are wrong. Writing in iPhone is no easy task.

@Heferkimbo, Hey, sorry for the very late reply, somehow didn't notice this comment - for some reason didn't show up in the notifications for me, noticed it just now as I was going though all the older posts seeing if there were some things that I never got around to :p
First of all, holy crap, how did you manage to type up all of that on the iPhone? Or rather how many hours did you have to spend on that :p
In terms of skies, I would say you'll get improvements only on very sunny day - I mean on days without plenty of direct sunlight, more often then not you won't get any major changes. But did you try 'spinning' the filter? Just as you may have noticed, depending on the direction in which its turned, you get very different results and so in turn in one position you may get very deep blues, while in another you'll get next to no change at all, rarely even the opposite of what you want one.
Not sure about the hole 'gun with your fingers' thing - never really tried it. Really the way I "learned" how to work with the filters is the same way I learned everything else, just by taking a million billion photos and seeing what works and what doesn't, never really looked for any explanations of how what works and why it works that way, but just went for "what looks good" and as long as it does look good, the process to get there isn't as important really I think.
But iduno, since you've posted this, did you have any luck and/or progress with figuring out how it all works?

another great set, my favourite being the first one of the bug

*reads part referring to "small lizard" and how people took him too literally*
Oh my God!!! That was me!! He's talking about me!! I'm the one!! Ahhh!!!
*frantically and giddily points at computer screen as if to show someone of this moment when in fact, there is no one else around*
= D
Michael Flux
@Pangie, hah, well yeah, you and almost everyone else ^_^;

I love how everything looks so calm and fresh in the morning.
